He was predeceased by: his parents, James William McCarter and Barbara Sue Priest McCarter; and his sisters, Diane M. Miller and Glenda McCarter. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Pleasant McCarter; his children, Roger McCarter, Jr. of Morrisville, Heather Whitfield (Brandon) of Leasburg and Brianna Barber (L. T.) of Leasburg; his brother Jimmy McCarter of Statesville; and his grandchildren, Georgia and Harper Whitfield.
