We are sad to announce that on October 20, 2020, at the age of 78, James Bernard Bowes of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Anthum Bowes and Bernice Walker Bowes. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hawkins Bowes; his daughters, Angela Bowes (Anthony) of Allensville, Kimberly Laws Moore (Kevin) of Hurdle Mills and Pamela Laws Schechter (Andy) of Hillsborough, NJ; his siblings, Wayne Bowes of Allensville, Kathleen Duncan of Roxboro and Linda Duncan of Roxboro; his grandchildren, Blair Pleasants, Blake "Ed" Thornburg, Jonathan Thornburg, Justin Maddox, Morgan Moore, Grant Moore, Harrison Moore, Kirstyn Schechter and Brenna Schechter; and his great grandchildren, Addison and Cameron Pleasants.

Memorials may be made to Flat River Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Sandy Clayton, 68 Jasper Clayton Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
