He was predeceased by: his parents, Roby Thelbert and Anice Tyndall Ashley; and his brothers, Carl Ashley and Donnie Ashley. He is survived by: his wife Judy Whitfield Ashley; his children, Donald Wayne "Buck" Ashley, Jr. (Lisa) of Roxboro and April Ashley Allen (Gene) of Hurdle Mills; his brothers, C. L. Ashley of Durham and Earl Ashley of Timberlake; his grandchildren, Savannah Suitt, Adam Ashley, Ginger Chambers, Allison Ashley and Daniel Allen; and his great grandchild Brantley Suitt.
