He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Yancey Clayton, Sr. and Emma Sue Ball Clayton; his wife Alma Louise Martin Clayton; his siblings, Marion Thomas Clayton and Louise Clayton Oakley; and his son-in-law Sherwood Coley.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Coley of Roxboro, Barry Tate of Hurdle Mills, Tony Tate (Betty) of Hurdle Mills and Darrell Clayton (Denise) of Hurdle Mills; his grandchildren, Justin Keatts, Bradley Coley (Destiny), Blake Tate, Avery Clayton and Atleigh Clayton; and his great grandchildren, Abigale Tate and Kegan Coley.
