He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Thomas Walters and Geneva Bessie Carswell; and his brothers, William Marvin Walters, Clyde Arthur Walters and Mark Anthony Walters.

He is survived by: his sister Betty Hamlett of Roxboro. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
