He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Louise Ballard and Victor Ballard, Sr.; his former wife Rose Ballard; his wife Katy Ballard; and his daughter Anna Marie Lorenzo.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne (Catherine Henton), Walter Harvey Ballard, Jr., Clinton (Christine Ballard), Stony (Jerry Ann Ballard), Danny (Kim Ballard), Lee and Krapish; and his brothers, Carlos (Martha), Donald (Merry), Victor (Linda), Harold (Rita) and Ernest (Beverly). He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the James Funeral Home (10520 Arahova Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078). A burial was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at the Northlake Memorial Gardens (11001 Alexandriana Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078).
In lieu of flowers, since Walter was an avid supporter of St. Jude's and Wounded Warriors, it would be preferred that a gift be given to one of these organizations in his honor.
