He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Joseph and Anna Christian; his friend Elizabeth C. Christian (Libby); his children, Jim Christian (Libby) of Terrell, Angie Ellington (John) of Charlotte, Brian Marks (Jennifer) of Raleigh, Linda West of Greenville, SC and George Leatherman (Angela) of Concord; and his brother Dan Christian.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to Holy Angels of Belmont, NC which Dick believed to be such a worthy and endearing cause to be supported.
