He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sherman Pinyan and Lodie Sowers Pinyan; and his siblings, John Sherman Pinyan II, Earl Pinyan, Floyd Pinyan, Phineas "Chick" Pinyan, A. G. Pinyan, Pat Pinyan, Ethel Wilson, Maxine Price, Louise Ritch and Dixie Kendall.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Ann Stone and Alma Horne. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
