She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeffrey Rucker and Beatrice Rucker; her husband James L. Martin; her son Harold "B. J." Martin; her grandson Richard Martin; her great grandchildren, Richard "Jermaine" Martin and Antwan Martin; and her siblings, B. J. Rucker, Hollis Rucker, Hassett Rucker, Delaney Holland and Geneva Moore.

She is survived by: her daughter Jewel Martin Flowers; her grandchildren, Randy Flowers (Everlena), Wayne Martin, Todd Martin (Natasha), Teresa Redmond (Craig), Wanda Mundy (Norman) and Deborah Williams (Terrence); her sister Ida Martin; her close friends, Larry Hickman, Geneva Gray, Sarah Smith, Gladys Redmond, Michael Everhart, Sheila Ann Gray and Evelyn Easter; and her niece Opal Stockton. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren.
