He was predeceased by: his parents, John Will Thomas and Gussie Mae Flanoy; his daughter Betty Jo Belk; and his siblings, Robert, Roscoe of Clarence, JP, Alvin, Juanita (Pon), Lucile and Betty Lois.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Hald Thomas; his sister Louise Wyatt; his children, Herb Thomas Jr. (Freddie), Roy Moritz (Bobbie), Lois Greer, Donna Lemmons, Diane Mohamed and Dawn Hestikind; and his grandchildren, Scotty, Chris, Travis, Jaisen, Andrew, Brian of Josh, JD, Amir, Misty, Asha, Brandy, Amanda, Corey and Layla. He is also survived by 29 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
