He was predeceased by: his parents, William Stephens and Mary Stephens; and his daughter Lynn. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Gibson Stephens; his children, Dwayne Stephens (Teri) of Huntersville and Cheryl Laforce of Charlotte; and his stepchildren, Dale Barr of Gastonia, Stephanie Coble of Catawba and Patricia Vanhoy of Iron Station. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
