With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alexander Salley Herbert Jr. of Huntersville, North Carolina, born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 28, 2024 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Salley Herbert, Sr. and Julia Andrews Boone; and his siblings, Charles Julian Herbert and Julia Boone Herbert. He is survived by: his wife Susan Smith Herbert; his children, Julia Ann Herbert, Alexander S. Herbert, III (Andy) and John Matthew Herbert; and his grandsons, Alex IV, Zachary, Jake and Conor. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
