He was predeceased by: his brothers, Harold Hartley, Darl Hartley, Jimmy Hartley, Harry Hartley, Ted Hartley, Jerry Hartley, Charles Hartley and Bill Hartley; and his child Rodney Allen Hartley.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Sanders Hartley; his daughter Alicia Greene (Philip) of Granite Falls; his siblings, Earl Hartley (Brenda) of Hudson and Frances Poarch (Ronald) of Morganton; and his grandchildren, Ethan Greene of Granite Falls and Hannah Greene of Granite Falls.
