He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Diane Moore Johnson; his daughters, Nikki Stamey (David Jr.) of Lenoir and April Johnson of Hudson; and his grandchildren, Davy Stamey and Gracie Stamey of Lenoir. He was also cherished by three sisters, two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
