He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Morrow Minton and Woodrow Weldon Minton; his son Howard Eugene Minton; his granddaughter Missy Dawn Howell; and his siblings, Ellen Crump and Woodrow Junior Minton.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Minton; his children, Ricky Dean Minton of Granite Falls, Michael Wayne Minton of Granite Falls, Randy Eugene Minton of Hickory and Brenda Minton Howell of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Megan Nicole Minton, Jessica Marie Minton, Pageland Marie Minton, Heather Marie Minton, Justina Love, Max Ronald Minton, Tanner Chase Abernathy and Timothy Wayne Howell; and his sisters, Sue Hall, Mamie Cornett, Precious Wilcox and Betty Bowman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
