He is survived by: his wife Shirley Porter; his children, Jerry Vance Porter Jr. (Sherry) and Karen Davis; his siblings, Dale Porter, Rebecca Porter and Rita Hubbard; his granddaughters, Tabitha Hargis (Corey), Casey Hall (Josh), Shelby Lear (Shane) and Brianna Porter; his great grandchildren, Makayla, Caleb, Jaxon, Tucker, Macey, Avery, Asa, Sophia and Landon; and his great great grandchildren, Carter and Kameron. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Evan's Funeral Service (1070 Taylorsville Rd SE, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
