She was predeceased by: her parents, Evy Sylvester Harrold and Lillie Clementine Hincher Harrold; her husband W. C. "Bill" Palmer; her foster son Michael Dills; and her stepson Rodney Paul Palmer.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Laurie F. Palmer of Okinawa, Patti Palmer-Maness (Steven) of Lenoir and Rick Palmer (Brenda) of Hudson; her brothers, Claud E. Harrold (Edith) of Albany, GA and Wade Harrold (Jeanine) of Lexington, NC; and her grandchildren, William Cory Palmer and McKenzie Lee Palmer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
