He was predeceased by: his parents, Norvin Plunk and Lillie Mae Green Plunk; his siblings, Wida Jean Taylor, Lessie Lee Wiess-Ciccarelli, Clyde, Cleo and Frank Kay Plunk; and his grandson Nathan Plunk.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Jean" Crump Plunk; his children, Jimmy Plunk (Trudy) of Hudson, Gerald William Plunk (Sylvia) of Lenoir and Lisa Hamby (Mitchell) of Lenoir; and his brother Ricky Lynn Plunk of Tennessee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
