It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ernest Lyons of Hudson, North Carolina, who passed away on August 19, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Watson Lyons; his parents, Clarence Lyons and Lela Lyons; and his siblings, Helen Norris, Eugene, Charles and Donald Lyons.

He is survived by: his children, Sybil Lyons of Hudson and Michael Lyons (Pam); his granddaughter Kenya Bryant (Lewis) of Connelly Springs; his great grandchild Malachi Bryant; his brothers, James "Red" Lyons (Peggy) of Boone and Doyle Lyons (Brenda) of Christiansburg, VA; his sisters-in-law, Rachel Lyons of Mooresville and Lu Lyons of Lenoir; and his close friends, Lisa Ryder, Nelson, Debbie Baily of Hudson, Craig, Sue Averbach of Tallahassee and Greg McMahan of Dandridge, Tennessee. He is also survived by six nieces and eight nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donors local hospice.

“Sybil and Mike, I remember from the time I was just a youngun to being a young adult to being an older adult... Ernie ALWAYS had open arms.... even if he was bowling. :) I remember the days visiting your household (almost EVERY weekend), staying over and seeing Ernie and his joking demeanor on some of those mornings. Sybil, your Dad was like a second Dad to me during our younger days... and that is something I will never forget. My heart goes out to you, Mike and the rest of the family. *hugs*”
