She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Witherspoon and Grace Hartley Witherspoon; her husband Bill Gilbert; and her sister Willa Dean Taylor. She is survived by: her daughters, Kay Vaughan (Gene) of Hudson and Rena Lawing (Lynn) of Hudson; her grandchildren, Ken Vaughan (Emily) and Cathy Vaughan; her great grandchild Troy Harris; and her brother Larry Witherspoon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Because of Covid, a visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday May 1, 2021 at Poovey's Chapel Baptist Church with a graveside service to follow in the church cemetery.
