He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clay Godfrey and Virginia Estelle Marino Godfrey. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Ballard Godfrey; his children, Matthew Godfrey, Clay Godfrey (Lori) of Conover, NC and Tonia Matthews of Lenoir; his grandsons, Michael and Gabriel Scott; and his sister Lisa Garrison (Paul Garrison) of Taccoa.
