He is survived by: his wife Mildred Louise Hamby Carter; his children, Rick Carter (Renay) of Houston, TX, Chris Carter (Denise) of Hickory, Alan Carter (Becky) of Lenoir and Lynn Honeycutt (Robin) of Hickory; his brother Robert Carter (Geraldine) of Florida; his grandchildren, Erik, Laura, Whitney, Sarah, Heather, Neal, Lindsay, Andrew and Nicholas; his great grandchildren, Presley, Stella, Caleb, Carter, Finley, Tatem, Haisley, River, Ava, Blake, Peyton, Laiken, Ila, Cora and David; and his great great grandchild Nayvie.
