He is survived by: his wife Mercedes Valdez Cooper; his daughters, Jacqueline Zackery (Robert) of Florida and Alice Tyndall of Nebraska; his grandchildren, Christian Tyndall and Hayden Zackery; his brothers, John Cooper, Jr. and Samuel Cooper of South Carolina; and his cousins, SL White, Wilbur Lee Cooper, Dairen Williams, Danzel Ward (Karen), Charles Brockington and Elma Brockington of North Carolina.
