It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Puryear Shelton-Johnson of Hot Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Puryear and Effie Ledford Puryear; her former husband Robert Shelton; her son Shannon Shelton; and her grandson Zachary Joyner.
She is survived by: her husband Anson Johnson; her daughter Luvenia Joyner; her stepson Adam Johnson; her grandchildren, Hailey Coates (Colby), Ben Joyner, Robby Shelton (Stephanie) and Lacy Joyner; and her great grandchildren, Kaysen Buchanan, Emme Coates, Leo Coates and Louis Hundertmark. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
