He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Alford Cashwell Sr. and Fannie Jane Honeycutt Cashwell; his siblings, Daniel Alford Cashwell Jr., Sylvia Druise Coleman and Peggy Cashwell Ward; and his granddaughter Amanda Graham Barker.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Whichard Cashwell of Hope Mills; and his children, Cinda Ginevich (Rost) of Colleyville, Texas, Barry Cashwell (Darlene) of Hope Mills, Jerry Cashwell (Renee) of Hope Mills, Henry Cashwell (Sophia) of Dahlonega, Georgia, Nancy Dees (Jimmy) of Fayetteville, Sheila Strickland of Hope Mills, Terry A Cashwell of Hope Mills and Jill Newlan (Ron) of Hope Mills. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be sent to Southview Baptist Church Mission Fund or North Carolina Baptist Children's Home.
