He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Porter and Minnie Porter; his son Robert D. Porter, Jr.; and his siblings, Joy Harmon, Katherine Craddock, Gene Porter, Barney Porter and Jim Porter.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Shuck Porter; his children, Lori Hanes and Jason Porter (Tabatha); his mother-in-law Bernice Shuck; his grandchildren, Nick Porter, Ashley Walton and Briana Walton; and his siblings, Pat Harstad, Nancy Dent, Mary Underwood, Donna Cochran and John Porter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
