He was predeceased by: his parents, Hattie Dees Byrd and Paul C. Byrd; and his grandson Joshua Gentry Borton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Carol West Byrd; his children, Jennifer B. Bigger (John) of Fayetteville and Robert G. Byrd II (Tonia) of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, Meredith, Caroline Borton and Benjamin Gentry Byrd; his sister Juanita Dove (Melvin) of Hope Mills; and his daughter-in-law Linda. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.
Due to rising Covid concerns, a Memorial service will be held at the graveside, Wednesday, August 4, at 11am, at Lafayette Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Kevin Moore and Rev. Steve Branch presiding.
