He was predeceased by: his daughter Dena Hart (Kelly McCubbins); his siblings, Beatrice, Betty, Don, Doris and Barbara; his niece Rhonda Meling; and his nephews, Richard Merriman and Randy King.
He is survived by: his son Clay McCubbins; his grandsons, Matthew Hart and Jake; his nieces and nephews, Tiffany Rand, Tammy Schell, Sherrie Jones, Ronald Merriman, Michael Merriman, Scott King and Josh Pruitt; and his caregiver Melissa Taylor.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery (8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390).
