Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Michael Smith of Hope Mills, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 64, on September 4, 2021. He was predeceased by: his father Ted Smith. He is survived by: his mother Melba McRainey Smith; his wife Ann Smith; his daughter Michele Heath (David); his grandson Jackson; his son Michael Smith (Katie); and his brother Duncan Smith (David Loven). He is also survived by other extended family and friends.

Through the wonderful gifts of blood donations, Michael was granted extra time to spend with his family and friends. It is for this reason that in lieu of flowers, the family requests one's own gift of life or memorial contribution be made to the American Red Cross.
