We are sad to announce that on August 1, 2021, at the age of 19, Marissa Borst of Hope Mills, North Carolina, born in Cumberland, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Charles and Bonnie Smith. She is survived by: her parents, Vanessa Smith Borst and David Nick Borst; her grandparents, David and Kerry Borst of Ortonville, Michigan; her aunts and uncles, Robin (Allen Heffelbower), Lindon (Sara Munro) and Billy (Beth Starr); and her cousins, Alan Michael Heffelbower, Trey Evers, Charlie Evers, Derrick Heffelbower, Rebekah Munro, Abigail Munroe, Andrew Munro, Gracie Starr, Clare Starr and Nathan Starr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Meredith Autism Program, 3800 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27607-5298.
