He was predeceased by: his parents, George Herman and Blanche Blanton Porter. He is survived by: his wife Joan Gail Porter; his daughter Stephanie Porter Karnes (Aaron David); his stepgrandson Hayden Karnes; his granddaughters, Kensley Johnson and Anna Johnson; his mother-in-law Lydia Rozier; his siblings, Gladys Oelberg, Violet Porter Smith, Elaine Shannon (Hollis), Marilyn Tyner, Marshall Davis Porter, Roger Porter (Peggy) and Merritt Porter (Saundra); and his sister-in-law Melinda Porter.
