She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon Clyde Sumner and Margaret Thompson Sumner; her husband John M Blanton, Sr.; her daughter Amanda Christine Blanton; her brother Gregory Eugene Sumner; her granddaughter Teresa Margaret Taylor; and her great grandchild Tyra Brianna Elliott.
She is survived by: her children, John Manning Blanton Jr. (Marla) of Smithfield, Kimberlee Barfield of Wade, Karen Culbreth (Dean) of Stedman, Joy Pridgen (Ronald) of Rocky Mount and Beth Cuevas (Alan) of Hope Mills; her grandchildren, Tara Huggins, Timothy Huggins, Gary Taylor Jr., Allison Evans, Amanda Hicks, Dillon Blanton, Miranda Isaac, Logan Blanton, Ronnie Pridgen Jr., Brandon Pridgen, Jessica Rush, Colton Cuevas and Vincent Cuevas; and her siblings, Jackie Balka, Donna Satterfield, Sandra Seay, Susie Phillips, Troy Sumner and Ronnie Sumner. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
