He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen James "Sonny" Dew, Jr. and Christine Mildred Hester Dew; his wife Elizabeth Ellen Dew; and his brother Owen Franklin Dew. He is survived by: his daughter Rev. Christy E. Dew (Christina); his brothers, Jimmy Dew (Elsie), Johnnie Dew (Charlotte) and Tony Dew (Barbara); his sisters-in-law, Dianne Brown (Pat) and Terry Ingalls; his cousins, Phillip Smith, Barbara Allen and Ada Hauser (Jim); and his nieces and nephews, Rene (Jason), Layla (Shane), Jessie, Kenneth, Kevin (Amanda), Melissa (McCall), Brooke (Kendall), Misty, Melinda (Charlie), Amy (Chris), Hannah (Bryan), Eric (Krista), Matt and Sarah (Roger).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church (3350 Butler Nursery Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306).
