He was predeceased by: his parents, Seldon Cole and Grace Campbell Cole; his wife Roberta Kit Carpenter Cole; and his siblings, Billy Cole, Jean Jackson and Bonnie Hawkins.
He is survived by: his children, Chad Cole (Teresa) of Hope Mills, Tracy McLeod (Randy) of Hope Mills and Brad Cole (Melissa) of Hope Mills; his grandchildren, Ally McLeod, Madilyn Cole, Marlee Cole, Roy Fulcher (Annie) and Brittany Fulcher; his great grandchild Layah Gonzales; and his sisters, Helen Townsend (Don) and Becky Gilliland (Mike). He is also survived by other family members and friends.
