He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Maxwell, Sr. and Ada Averitt Maxwell of Cumberland County; his wife Peggy Cain Maxwell; his siblings, Ida Lancaster, James Grey Maxwell, Danny Maxwell, Sr. and Charles Maxwell; and his great grandchild Evan Bain Windham.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Maxwell Bain (Julian), Clarence C. Maxwell, Jr. (Barbara) of Hope Mills, NC. and Dwayne Maxwell of Hope Mills, NC.; his grandchildren, Michelle Eastwood (Micah) of Hendersonville, NC, April Kendall (Paul) of Hope Mills, NC, Julie Windham (Stan) of Hope Mills, NC, Blake Maxwell (Whitney) of Hope Mills, NC and Samantha Maxwell Dunnavant (Robert) of Buckingham, VA.; his great grandchildren, Leona, Bethany, Makayla Eastwood of Hendersonville, NC, Garrett Windham of Hope Mills, NC, Daniel of Hope Mills, NC, Samuel Kendall of Hope Mills, NC, Leanne of Hope Mills, NC and Andrew Maxwell of Hope Mills, NC; his stepgrandchildren, Robert Hemmingway (Summer) and Kelsey King (Seth); and his siblings, Bill, David Maxwell and Mildred Rice of Fayetteville, NC.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to SEVERE COVID restrictions, only the family will have a private graveside service at 2:00 pm, on Saturday that will be conducted at Green Springs Baptist Church, Parkton, NC by Rev. Steve Kirk.
In lieu of flowers and food, please make memorials to Green Springs Baptist Church, Senior Citizens or Baptist Men, Parkton, NC or to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Waccamaw or one's favorite charity.
