She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Sutton and Cornelia Sutton; her husband Jerry Hartsfield Shackelford; her son Jerry Dwain Shackelford; her sister Hazel Hardy; and her siblings-in-law, Jesse Ray Shackelford, Frank Shackelford, William "Bill" Shackelford, Jasper "Pete" Sugg, Joseph Lemuel Hardy, Frank Hill, Sara Sugg, Mae Carol Hill and Hattie Lou Shackelford.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Shackelford Baker; her grandchildren, Jay Shackelford (Laura), Jon Shackelford (Melissa) and Sarah Sutton Baker; and her great grandchildren, Jeri Shackelford, Jonna Shackelford and David Shackelford.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service (117 NW 3rd St, Snow Hill, NC 28580). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Hookerton Christian Church (302 E Church St, Hookerton, NC 28538).
