He was predeceased by: his brother Killian Smith. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smith (Pratt); his children, Gregory, Andrea (Teague), Christopher and Karen (Louck); his grandchildren, Zachary, Erin and Carter; his great grandchild McKenna; and his brother Dennis Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
