He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Simmons Carver (Steve) of Spindale; his grandchildren, Sherry Hill (Darien) of Rutherfordton and Brian Keith Carver of Spindale; his great grandchildren, Dylan Hill, Caleb Hill, Cameron Hill and Hallie Kate Hill; and his siblings, Virgil Simmons of Van, GE, Odell Simmons, Selma Melton, May Ward, Lula Willis, Juanita Dobbins and Ethel McCurry.
