He was predeceased by: his father Charles William King; and his brother David King. He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances King; his mother Eloise Locklear of Jacksonville; his sisters, Bonnie, Linda, Sylvia and Sharon; his children, Jerry King (Tennille) of Jacksonville, Thomas King (Lia) of Jacksonville and Kim Shepard (Ronald) of Ohio; his stepson Billy Gentry (Joy) of Sneads Ferry; and his grandchildren, Chelsea Stroud, Aaron King, Ivey King, Katie King and Mariah Shepard, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and friends.
The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the SECU Family House in Wilmington, NC.
