She was predeceased by: her spouse Jatha Boyd Smith; her mother Dolly King Dean; her daughter Myra Smith Maddocks; her sons-in-law, David Maddocks and Ronnie Johnson; and her siblings, Dolphus Thompson, Mary Lee Jones and Emma Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, Darrell Smith (Debbie) of Angier, Barbara Smith Johnson of Garner, Larry Smith (Wanda) of Sneads Ferry and Ricky Smith of Holly Ridge; and her sister-in-law Jackie Thompson of Sneads Ferry. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Child.
