He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Padgett and Mary Padgett; his wife Brenda Joy Padgett; his siblings, John Padgett, Willa Mae Hartley and Mary Elizabeth Piner; and his grandson Timothy Earl Padgett.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Lucas (Daryl) of Holly Ridge and Justin Padgett (Dona) of Sneads Ferry; his grandsons, Matthew Padgett of Kansas, Christopher Flores of Holly Ridge, Johnathan Flores of Holly Ridge and David Oxfurth of Holly Ridge; his stepgrandchildren, Kirsty Flores of Iowa and Kendra Lancaster of Texas; and his siblings, Ashley Padgett, P. H. Padgett, Sarah Hansley and Norine Pickel (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
