He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Battle and Dora Battle; his son Cornelius Battle; and his wife Bettie Mae Battle. He is survived by: his children, Sheila Reid of Hollister, NC, Randy Battle of Hollister, NC and Jennifer Ponton (Michael) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his siblings, Harvey Battle (Yvette), Evelyn Lynch of New York, Bettie Fulmore (Edward) and Paula Person (Quincy); his grandchildren, James Robert Battle (Safari) of Asheboro, NC, Wilson David Richardson (Denesha) of Rocky Mount, NC, Isaiah, Michael, Josiah Ponton of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Brandy Vick of Warrenton, NC; and his great grandchildren, J'ceyon and Zena Battle of Asheboro, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
