She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Hackney and Retha Hopkins Hackney; and her brother Wilson Hackney. She is survived by: her husband Michael; her children, Christy Cooke of Tarboro and Jamey Cooke (Jennifer) of Tarboro; her stepsons, Bryan Urton (Vanessa) of Flagstaff, AZ and Michael Scott Urton (Amy) of Wake Forest; her sister Margaret H. McKinney of Scotland Neck; and her grandchildren, Logan Nevins, Ian Urton, Kyle Cooke, Elijah Urton, Emma Urton and Adrianna Urton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
