With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Van Riddick of Hobbsville, North Carolina, born in Gates, North Carolina, who passed away on January 20, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Riddick and Kathryn Wenrich Riddick; and his sister Shirley (Shoat Berryman). He is survived by: his wife Helen Joyce Harrell Riddick; his children, Kathy Riddick Best (Curt) of Courtland, VA, Wesley Jordan (Angie) of Hobbsville and Jason Van Riddick of Hobbsville; his siblings, Mary Kathryn Baum (Tommy) of Hobbsville and Richard Riddick of Sunbury; his grandchildren, Ashton Jordan, Kaiden and Addison Riddick; his stepgranddaughter Allie Leeman (Patrick); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Grayson and Easton Leeman.
Flowers are welcome, or contributions in his memory may be made to the Gates County EMS, or to either the Hobbsville or Sunbury Volunteer Fire Departments.
