It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velva Davis Franklin (Hillsborough, North Carolina), who passed away on March 28, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sister Edith Faye Wiles; her spouse Carlton Lonnie Franklin; and her parents, Nora and Charlie. She is survived by: her children, Edward Franklin (Mary), Paula Dean-James (Charlie), Gary Franklin, Kelly Hamlett and Renee Franklin.
