He is survived by: his wife Mary Reterstoff Straughn; his children, Lawrence Straughn (Becky) of Jamestown, NC, Tony Straughn (Kim) of Julian, NC, Michael Straughn of Burlington, NC and Amanda Straughn of Columbia, SC.; his grandchildren, April Straughn, Heather Riley (Ricky) and Jonathon Straughn; his great grandchildren, Hadley and Kylee Carnes; his stepsons, Robin Cole (Kim) of Mebane, NC and Neil Cole (Jennifer) of Conway, SC.; and his siblings, Bobby Straughn (Josephine) of Greensboro, NC, Richard Straughn (Alice) of Yadkinville, NC, Joseph Straughn (Judy Gail) of Greensboro, NC and June S. Lobdell of Greensboro, NC..
