He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Mangum and Verlia Cates Mangum; his children, Jeffrey Reid Mangum and Susan Diane Mangum; and his great grandchild Colton Wade Mangum.
He is survived by: his wife Janie Baldwin Mangum; his children, Robert Anthony "Tony" Mangum (Donna), Gayle Mangum Kirk (Mark) and Gregory Wade Mangum (Brenda); his grandchildren, John Wesley Kirk, Kayce Jeffries (Dean), Kelly Mangum, Sheila Mangum, Joseph Mangum and Kiley Mangum-Smith (Joe); and his siblings, Carolyn Dolores Draughon and Dennis Warden Mangum. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough (204 N Churton St, Hillsborough, NC 27278). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Union Grove United Methodist Church (6407 Union Grove Church Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278).
