It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mariah J. Umstead in Hillsborough, North Carolina, who passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Stirling Umstead and Essie Ruth Jones Umstead. She is survived by: her sister Mary R. Umstead; and her friend Pamela A. Morse.

In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Eno River Association, Pleasant Green UMC, or the Duke Alzheimer's Disease Research Center would be greatly appreciated.
