It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louise Cates of Hillsborough, North Carolina, born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on February 2, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Reese Franklin and Mattie Lee Conkle Franklin; her husband Doyle H. Cates; her grandson Tommy Lee Husketh, Jr.; her great grandchild Taylor Elizabeth McFalls; and her brothers, James Franklin, Johnny Franklin, Francis Ira Franklin and Jessie Melvin Franklin.
She is survived by: her children, Marie Huskett (Melvin), Sharon C. Coats (Jared), Angela C. Ward (Glenn), Frankie Lee Cates and Doyle Wayne Cates; her grandchildren, Steven Doyle Clayton, Janie Michelle Clayton-Stone, Joe Glenn Ward, Tonya Lee McFalls, Felicia L. Jayne and Jared Blake Coats; and her great grandchildren, McKenzie Lynn Stone, Tanner McFalls, Bladen G. Miller, McKenna Paige Stone, Alana Lou Jayne and Harley Lou Jayne. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
