She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry and Ila Byrd Carpenter; her husband Oliver Roy Wiggins; her daughters, Gloria Glasscock, Peggy Butler and Geneva Pope; and her siblings, Donald Carpenter, Willard Carpenter, Brian Maynor and Ruby Ferrell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Evans (Greg) of Durham and Patricia Pennington of Hillsborough; her brother Tyson Carpenter (Janie); her son-in-law Robert Butler; her sister-in-law Trudy Carpenter; and her grandchildren, Tammy Ortiz (Mark), Stephanie Morris (Brian), Harold Wayne Reagan, Chris Reagan, Roy Glasscock, Michael Glasscock and Shaun Fuller. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
